Actor Mark Tymchyshyn (born July 30, 1958) [1] appears in the recurring role of Mel Powers, co-owner/co-president of Powers Aviation, whom George, Benny, and Max work for on George Lopez.

Mark is perhaps best known to TV viewrs for his role in The George Lopez Show as Mel Powers, a factory owner. Mark is a graudate of Wayne State (MI) University [2]
He directed the film A Lie of the Mind with playwright Sam Shepard. He also has guest roles in shows such as NBC-TV's ER, the USA Network series Monk starring Tony Shaloub, NBC's Seinfeld[3] and ABC-TV's The Drew Carey Show and Boston Legal. From 1990 to 1992, he portrayed the character of Gavin Kruger in the CBS-TV daytime soap opera series As the World Turns and also appeared in an episode of FOX's Malcolm in the Middle series in 2000 He originally intended to become a teacher, but is now both an actor and professor.
