Jack Blessing (born July 29, 1951-died November 14, 2017) He plays the role of Jack Powers, co-owner of Powers Aviation with brother Mel Powers, both of whom are George's bosses, on the ABC-TV series George Lopez.

About Jack[]

Blessing acted with Brad Dourif in the horror film Heaven's Gate in 1980. From 1986 through 1989, he was a semi-regular on the ABC-TV series Moonlighting, which was photographed by Jerry Finnerman. In 1987, he starred with Robin Curtis in LBJ: The Early Years. Also in 1987, he acted with Kirstie Alley and Mark Harmon in Summer School. In 1989 he appeared in Mothers, Daughters and Lovers.

In 1990, Blessing starred with Olivia d'Abo in The Spirit of '76. He also in Working Tra$h in 1990. In 1992 he starred with Robert Picardo in Samantha. In 1994, he guest starred in an episode of the NBC-TV sci-fi series seaQuest DSV alongsides Richard Herd. Jack starred in Murder One: Diary of a Serial Killer in 1997 with Alexander Enberg, and with Scott Bakula (of Quantum Leap and NCIS: New Orleans fame) in Above Suspicion in 2000. Again in 2000, he starred with Bruce Thomas and Steven Culp in Thirteen Days.

Jack's many guest TV show appearances also included M*A*S*H, The X-Files, Judging Amy, NYPD Blue, Murder One, Home Improvement, and in Everybody Loves Raymond. Blessing also had a role in the Will Ferrell comedy movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby as Jarvis.

Blessing gained national prominence for his role as Jack Powers in George Lopez, playing the character in 25 episodes spanning from 2002 through the series' finale in 2007.[1]

Death[]

Blessing died of pancreatic cancer at his home in Chatsworth, CA on November 14, 2017 at the age of 66.[2] He is survived by two sons and his wife.[2]
