Claudia Palmero is Veronica's deceased millionaire mother. She only appeared in the Season Five episode "A Funeral Brings George to His Niece" (episode #15). She was sick for a couple of years and was suffering until she finally died in 2006 in Miami. George didn't want to go to her funeral because Claudia divorced Ray.
The Palmero Family treat George badly because they have more money. Her ex-husband Ray didn't even attend the funeral.
During her recorded will, Claudia left Veronica all her money in her will but made George the trustee which meant he could decide if she was responsible enough to have it. It was revealed in the episode that she didn't like Vic or her other in-laws since none of them were picked and George got the upper-hand on them. Claudia choose George because, unlike the rest of the family, he had gone through harder times in his life. Her will is later challenged, freezing the trust fund for her daughter.
She is played in the episode by Maria Canals Barrera.
