Plot summary[]
Angie's former sister-in-law Claudia, Ray's ex-wife, passes away, and during the funeral, George is picked as the trustee of his niece's multi-million dollar inheritance. However, George is strict with Veronica, and refuses to give her the money unless she is mature enough, and only gives her a $40-a-week allowance. Max develops a crush on Veronica, and helps her shoplift pretty clothes. The next day, Veronica gets a job at the mall, but she quits and goes to the bar, where she gets high on marijuana.
Plot[]
Angie's former sister-in-law Claudia, Ray's ex-wife, passes away from an illness. George doesn't want to go since Angie's rich family belittles. During the funeral, Claudia states she is leaving her money to her daughter though states a trustee of the multi-million dollar inheritance would be picked. Claudia states the trustee would be a person who has worked hard and knows the value of money, she has Vic walk up before telling him to kiss the behind of George Lopez as she picked him, which surprises the entire Palmero family. An amused George laughs at his in-laws with finally having the upper-hand.
However, George is strict with Veronica, and refuses to give her the money unless she is mature enough, and only gives her a $40-a-week allowance. Max develops a crush on Veronica, and helps her shoplift pretty clothes. The next day, Veronica gets a job at the mall, but she quits and goes to the bar, where she gets high on marijuana. Disgusted by this George plans to give Veronica her money and get her out of his house so that his kids will not be terribly influenced by her.
Vic comes to talk with George and tells him he is good father, more so than Vic. Vic describes his childhood of how he grew up with nothing and then when he became rich he spoiled his kids and while Angie turned out all right his son Ray, Veronica’s father did not. Vic describes how he became an awful person because of Vic spoiling him. Victor begs George to not let his granddaughter end up like that because unlike her father she’s a good kid. After Victor leaves Joyce goes to meet with Veronica who is in the kitchen awaiting him.
Veronica gives her party thanks about him letting her stay with him and prepares to take her money and George gives her money but it’s only $40 he tells her they are low on groceries and then she can go out and get some. Furious Veronica questions what happened to him giving her the money but he tells her he changed his mind and he’s not gonna let her squandered to all that money. She questions why is he trying to be like a father to her tells her she got right now if she wants her money she was going to obey his rules. Angie she walks in on this please that her husband is finally taking a stance against Veronica storms out upset well George is amused and welcomes her into the family.
